JAMMU, July 5: A senior police officer of Jammu has issued a directive, making it clear to all his subordinates that there was no need for them to visit his home. He has also asked them to visit his office in connection with work only or if he calls them. Soon after his posting in Jammu, his subordinates, including those from other districts, made a beeline for his house with gifts and specialities of their respective jurisdictions. While he returned the gifts, he also refused to take the eatables, saying he was not used to taking them, police sources said. He has now asked all his subordinates not to visit his home for any purpose. He has also directed them to come to his office only in connection with work or if he calls them for official assignments or meetings. Sources said the senior officer had also directed his staff not to entertain any of his subordinates in case they happened to come to his office as this "affects the output of work". "He has made it clear that the old culture of subordinates visiting the senior officer's office will not be allowed to continue during his tenure," the sources added. |
