Artists mesmerize audience at ICF's 'Galaxy' programme

Jammu, July 6 : Indian Cultural Forum (ICF), Jammu in its 'Galaxy' series of musical programmes, organized a musical-cum-literary evening at auditorium of Govt College for Women (GCW), Parade, Jammu.
Desh Bandhu Dogra Nutan was the chief guest and S Narsingh Dev veteran writer and painter presided over the function whereas Gyaneshwar Sharma, a prominent poet and V P Puri, Secretary, Red Cross Society were the guests of honour and Joginder Chhatarpal, President, Dogri Sanstha was special guest on this occasion.
The music programme was based on the Dogri Poetry of well known writer and poet Mohan Singh and the songs were composed by Sham Saajan, a well known gazal singer and music composer of the state. At the onset Prof Lalit Mangotra Chief Patrom of the Forum welcomed the guests and informed that the forum is organizing events on songs based on different hues of a single poet. He also announced that the forum will soon star 'Melody Series' of musical evenings will be organized to explore upcoming singers.
During the proceedings of musical evening Gursharan Kaur presented a Dogri song, Sagam Pant recited Dogri song written in Sufi style, and Apoorva Jamwal presented Dogri song and kept the audience glued to their seats while Rahul Kumar and Virender Kapadia sang songs of Mohan Singh. Meantime Mohan Sigh recited two of his poems on the stage. In the end of the musical round Sham Sajan presented a Ghazal leaving the audience mesmerized and swing in moods.
It may be mentioned that India Cultural Forum has already presented a number of 'Galaxy Series' programmes of Dogri, Hindi, Punjabi and Urdu poetry of the poets of the state
Narsingh Dev Jamwal in his presidential address congratulated Indian Cultural Forum for relentless efforts made to promote the poetry of the local poets and to explore local talent of upcoming singers.
Ravinder Kaul, a veteran dramatist anchored the programme and S Chander Dharmatt extended the vote of thanks.
