Security grid border twin districts, alert sounded along Mughal Road

Rajouri, July 27: Following militant attack at Dina Nagar in Gurdaspur district in Punjab, Rajouri police have increased vigilance on Jammu-Poonch national highway and special checking /frisking of vehicles at various places/police nakas have been intensified.
Sources said that alert has also been sounded on Mughal road and additional troops of Poonch police and para-military forces have been deployed on Mughal Road to foil any attempt by the anti-national forces.
Pertinently, terrorists with the help of Pakistan army and Inter Services Intelligence (ISI) of Pakistan army are desperately attempting to enter into Indian soil from Rajouri-Poonch districts for the last few months but alert army troops have foiled their every attempt.
"All the senior police officers in Rajouri-Poonch districts have been instructed to keep special vigil on the suspicious movement of any person in combat dress or travelling in private transport or vehicles in army dress" said AK Attri, DIG police Rajouri-Poonch range.
DIG Rajouri Poonch Mr Attri added that police nakas have also been extended /activated on the vulnerable link roads connecting Jammu-Poonch highway especially link roads connecting border belts in both the districts.
"Special focus has been kept on Mughal road and security forces have been advised to keep surveillance on the activities of anti-national forces as Republic Day as well as Budha Amarnath Yatra are scheduled in the month of August, he added.
" In case of any emergency / suspected movement ,police officers have been directed to carry out joint search operation with Army and SHOs of police stations situated near Line of Control (LoC) in both the districts have also been directed to keep close coordination with the army" he added. Important to mention that terrorist outfits especially Lashker (LeT) and Jaish-e-Mohd (JeM) with the help of Pakistan army desperately attempting 'force intrusion bids' in both the districts.
Recently on July 25 Pakistan army resorted to unprovoked small arms firing on the forward Indian posts manned by Rajput and Bihar regiments under the aegis of 120 Infantry Brigade.
Heavy movement of armed terrorists has reportedly been noticed in Kacharban area in POK opposite to Sawjian sector in Poonch district.
