JAMMU, July 28: Jammu and Kashmir Mountaineering Association in collaboration with Sprawling Buds School is organising 15th State Sport Climbing Championship at prefabricated Tensing Norgay wall (Sprawling Buds School) at Chinore in Bantalab, near here on August seven and August eight. "The two-day event shall witness competition in eight different categories under the technical guidance of president of jury, Shawetica Khajuria, who is a qualified national judge in Sport Climbing," informed general secretary of the Association, Ram Khajuria. Around 200 climbers, drawn from districts of Samba, Kathua, Reasi, Udhampur, Pulwama, Anantnag, Srinagar and hosts Jammu, are expected to compete for the top honours. "The competition shall be held in eight categories of men, women (born in 1998 and before), boys and girls (born in 1999, 2000 and 2001), sub-junior boys and girls (born in 2002, 2003 and 2004), mini boys and girls (born in 2004 and after)," giving details, said Khajuria. Whereas the men, women, boys and girls sections, the competition shall be held in both lead as well as speed events, those taking part in in sub-junior and mini boys and girls shall compete in lead only. Those individuals and district units have been advised to confirm their entries well in time. On the spot registration shall also be made on the inaugural day i.e August seven.
