jammu, July 28: A Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) leader illegally retained his PSO (personal security officer) for over a month and a half even after he was transferred by police headquarters to some other wing.
The PCC leader was allotted PSO a few years back. On June 11 last, he was transferred to armed wing of the state police in a major reshuffle of lower ranks. He was shifted vide order No 1560 because he was at the same place for the past several years, according to police sources.
While he received the transfer order, the Congress leader did not let him go and illegally retained him for over a month and a half, sources informed.
Soon after his transfer, the Congress leader approached the police headquarters but all in vain. However, after an ex-minister and other senior Congress leaders took up the matter with the police headquarters, the transfer of the PSO was cancelled vide order No 2191 and he was asked to continue as the Congress leaders's PSO, sources said.
Till his transfer was cancelled, he was unauthorisedly retained by the Congress leader, sources alleged. |
