Early Times Report Jammu, July 29: Regional Director of Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, Balwant Thakur, today felicitated the first ever ICCR scholar from Peoples Republic of Bangladesh Gazi Muhammad Abdullah Mahdi who has come to Jammu under ICCR scholarship to undergo MSc in Biotechnology from Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology (SKUAST), Jammu. A resident of Dhaka, Gazi Muhammad Abdullah Mahdi is an Agriculture Science Graduate from Bangabandhu Sheikh Muibur Rehmaan Agricultural University, Salna Gazipur, Dhaka Division, Bangladesh. Welcoming him in Jammu, Balwant Thakur said that with the coming of ICCR in the state of J&K, the educational institutions of the region are all set to become the global destination of education. Three scholars are already studying in Jammu under ICCR scholarships. They include two from Islamic Republic of Afghanistan and one from Namibia (Africa). |
