Early Times Report

Jammu, July 30: In a petition seeking initiation of disciplinary proceedings and withdrawal of security of Kewal Krishan Sharma, then additional PRO of ex-deputy chief minister Tara Chand, and highlighting accumulation of assets disproportionate to his known sources of income today took a new turn when Kewal appeared in person in the court of Justice Tashi Rabstan, where the case was listed for hearing, and alleged that he faced threat to his life from Tara and two cops.
When the petition came up for hearing, the court's attention was drawn towards a fresh application moved by the petitioner to place on record a copy of the communication No 101/Misc-J/1604-06 of October, 1, 2014 whereby then Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, Shantmanu had written to the GAD secretary for taking stringent action against the forest guard-turned-PRO for acting in violation of CCA rules and had also referred in his communication the inquiry conducted by then Deputy Commissioner, Jammu Ajeet Kumar Sahu in which he had recommended strict action against Kewal for his act of distributing cheques in sub-division, Khour.
Justice Rabstan allowed the fresh application and took on record the October 1, 2014 communication and directed Registry to list the instant petition as per previous order in the week commencing August 3, 2015.
Kewal, who appeared in person, created sensation in the open court when he levelled serious allegations against Tara Chand and two senior cops, alleging threat to his life. He stated that there is threat to his life and requested the court to restore his security so that he can safely reach his home as he apprehends elimination on way from the goons of Tara Chand.
He said the high court did not pass any order regarding the withdrawal of his security but police on their own had withdrawn his security. He submitted that he stands by his allegations of murder, rape and corruption levelled against Tara Chand and denied the reply filed by him wherein he had stated that he had no threat from the Ex-Deputy CM and alleged threat from militants and criminals and stated that the so-called denial attributed to him was under the pressure of Tara Chand and police. He submitted that the said reply was not as per his instructions.
After hearing Kewal in person, Justice Rabstan directed him in the open court to file his allegations in black and white before the next date of hearing as today's utterances are contrary to the reply filed by him.
Before the close of proceedings, Kewal again requested the court for security cover which was not extended as the court observed that he should file his allegations in black and white. (JNF)
