ADC Kishtwar visits Sirgwari on road alignment issue

Kishtwar, July 30: As per the direction of Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Mohammad Javed Khan, Additional Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Hanief Malik along with in charge Superintendent Engineer Mohammad Ashraf Gilkar today visited Sirgwari village to address the road alignment issue that has created a major uproar after Assistant Commissioner Revenue (ACR) allegedly use police force against the people opposing change of road alignment favouring the contractor resulted into injuries to at least five women. As per the details available with "Early Times" the ADC met with all the stakeholders including the agitating people as well as the people of village Srawan and found the claims made by the Sirgwari villagers as genuine. ADC along with SE PMGSY after assessing the vulnerable area directed the concern officials and contractor to stick the basic alignment and issued on spot ban on major blasting that could trigger the landslide and thus threatened the safety and security of the life and property of the Sirgwari villagers. He also directed the contractor to dispose off the raw material at safe place, beside also directed PMGSY to make assessment of all the house falling in and around vulnerable area so that compensation could be provided to them. The ADC also directed the contractor to take all precautions while tackling with lose portion area.
Meanwhile the local people of Sirgwari and Srawan hails the effort of ADC and rued the behavior of ACR who failed to tackle the issue as a result of which the law and order problem created in the area. Meanwhile the supporters of ACR led by senior BJP leader and District Spokesperson Kishore Lal Shan today held a protest in support of ACR and blocked the road in front of DC Office for nearly half hour. The protesters were raising slogans in favor of ACR. Some Congress activist supporting the Contractor who has backing of Congress MLA Ghulam Mohammad Saroori were are also the part of the protest. Reacting to today's protest by ACR supporters, the people of Sirgwari termed the protest as stage managed, added that the participant in today's protest are either private persons or working in different capacity for the contractor. They said the atrocities committed by the ACR and in charge police post Thakrie could not be justified, added that the victims of police brutality stick to their demand of action against ACR. They said that people of Sirgwari did not want to create any hurdle in construction of road, but not at the cost of lives and property of the poor people.
