Jammu, July 31 : An Educational-cum-motivational tour comprising of 21 students and two teachers hailing from remote areas of Akhnoor to Amritsar and Shimla was flagged in by the Commander 'Guardians of LC Brigade' in an impressive ceremony held at Akhnoor, today. According to defense spokesman, the tour was organised to give an exposure to young children about developments taking place in other parts of the country and to introduce them to the diverse culture, people and landscapes of our nation. During the tour, the children got an opportunity to visit Amritsar and surrounding areas of Chandigarh, Pinjore and Shimla. Prominent location visited were Golden Temple, Guru Nanak Dev University, Miri Piri Academy, Beating the Retreat at Wagah Border, Khalsa College, Jalianwala Bagh Memorial, Khalsa College of Veterinary and Science, Botanical Gardens, Durgina Temple, Ram Bagh at Amritsar, Rock Garden and Sukhna Lake Chandigarh, Pinjore Garden, Summer Hill, Kufri, Rashtriya Military School, Chail, Chail Palace, Chail Sanctuary, Bahra University, Jaypee University, Jakhoo Hill, Shimla Ridge, AP Goyal University, Indian Institute of Advance Studies, Anandale, The Himachal State Museum and Library and Chadwick Falls. The advancement and development seen by the children will help them to excel in the various fields. The parents of the children were grateful for this opportunity provided by the Indian Army. |
