Now, militant posters appear in Budgam, warn police informers

Srinagar, July 31: After north and south Kashmir, threat posters of Jaish-e-Muhammad (JeM) militant outfit have surfaced in central Kashmir's Budgam district, warning police informers of dire consequences. Sources said the posters of JeM appeared in bus stand Pakherpora of Budgam on Friday morning, warning people against becoming informers of security agencies and blamed some persons for killing of five JeM militants last year.
The posters carrying stamp and signature of a divisional commander of JeM were spotted by locals of the area. Theses posters created panic among common the people, sources said. Warning people against becoming informers of security agencies, the posters read: "All Muslim brothers particularly people of Pakherpora are aware that during last 25 years how many people sacrificed their lives for Islam and for the same cause thousands of people from Pakistan also sacrificed their lives." Warning police informers of dire consequences, the JeM said it was keeping an eye on the activities of suspected people of the area. "Last year, four of our mujahid brothers were martyred, they were killed as some locals and STF conspired with army. We have identified all those involved and we will teach them a lesson soon after completing our investigation thoroughly in the matter." Calling the threat as last warning, one such poster read: "Lakhs of women were raped and thousands of youth are in jails. We warn people of Pakherpora to abolish contacts with police and do not tell us later that we didn't warn you." In the wake of surge in militant activities across the Valley in last two years, posters of different outfits continue to surface in different parts. Two months ago, posters of militants surfaced in Sopore town of north Kashmir, warning people to shut down mobile installations and cable network. Later series of attacks were carried out on telecom operators in Sopore. Last week, posters of militants surfaced in Pulwama where People associated with beauty parlour business were asked to shut down their units. Besides office bearers of educational institutions were warned to make hijab as dress code for girl students in their institutions.
