Workshop on 'M&CH', 'Mission Indra-dhanush' held | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Aug 4: Directorate of Field Publicity, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, Jammu & Kashmir region is all set to launch awareness campaign on 'Mother & Child Health' and 'Mission Indradhanush' in six high priority districts of Jammu & Kashmir State in the days to come. Around 201 high priority districts were identified throughout the length and breadth of the country under these two public welfare health programs of Union Health Ministry where Mother and Child Health and Immunization schedule is a cause of major concern. In Jammu and Kashmir six high priority districts have been identified which included Rajouri, Poonch, Doda, Kishtwar, Ramban and Leh where a mass drive has been initiated by central government to improve the graph of M&CH and Immunization of children from 0-6 years against seven killer diseases. In this context, DFP J & K in close coordination and Cooperation with Directorates of Health, NRHM, Family Welfare and ICDS organized a day long orientation workshop at Hotel Vivek, Jammu, which was aimed at mobilizing and sensitizing the field officers of DFP who are going to launch an intensive awareness campaign in six high priority districts of the state in the coming days. The workshop was formally inaugurated and presided over by Dr. Baldev Sharma, Director, Family Welfare, Jammu & Kashmir whereas Dr. Baljeet Pathania, Director Health, Jammu and Sunaina Sharma, Deputy Director, ICDS, Jammu were Guest of Honour and Special guest on the occasion resapectively. The workshop was attended by a large number of field officers of DFP J&K beside Chief Medical Officers, District Mass Media Officers from Health and NRHM departments and Programme Officers and CDPO's of ICDS projects of six high priority districts. On this occasion, a number of experts from Directorate of Family Welfare and NRHM were made available for the sensitization of the delegates of the workshop who interacted with the field officers and delivered keynote addresses on the themes. While interacting with the delegates both the Directors Family Welfare and Health services assured DFP of full cooperation and support during the awareness campaign. |
