| 'Hypocrite' Er Rashid preaches secessionism, glorifies Pak sponsored militancy | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Aug 4: The independent MLA from Langate constituency in Kupwara district Er Rashid, who is under oath to safeguard sovereignty and integrity of India, is openly preaching secessionism and Pakistan sponsored militancy in Jammu and Kashmir.
The legislator on Tuesday went to Audoora Mawar in north Kashmir's Bandipora district to express sympathies with the family members of a militant Tariq Mir, whose body was fished out from river Jehlum on Monday. While addressing the mourners he (Er Rashid) claimed that Kashmir is a dispute and it should be resolved forthwith.
The legislator spoke like a separatist and left no stone unturned to glorify militancy in the state saying, "Everybody has full right to differ with the ideology and style of operating of militants but the huge gap between the viewpoint of those celebrating death of a hardcore militant and those seeing him as a martyr needs to be understood. It is obvious that whosoever speaks for resolution of Kashmir issue touches heart and mind of majority of Kashmiris and GoI cannot run away from the facts by celebrating the deaths of militants. Whosoever speaks for the resolution of the Kashmir issue needs to understand fully that it is the militants who reminded Kashmiris of the broken promises of Indian leadership."
It's not for the first time that Er Rashid has spit venom against India and has behaved like a separatist. He leaves no opportunity to castigate India and advocates Azadi for Kashmir. One wonders why no action is taken against him and why is always allowed to get away. On many occasions people around him have suggested him that he should leave the mainstream camp and join separatists.
An analyst while talking to Early Times said: "As a legislator he draws a hefty salary and has been provided with an official accommodation. On one hand he (Er Rashid) is enjoying all the privileges while on the other hand he is preaching secessionism. If he is not happy with India and its constitution he should give up all the privileges and then talk."
Last month photographs of Er Rashid enjoying an iftaar party organized by Army had gone viral on the social networking websites. The legislator is known for his anti-Army rant and leaves no chance to stage anti-Army protest whenever there is trouble. "Er Rashid is height of hypocrisy he relishes the parties thrown by Indians. He enjoys the money which is provided to him by India but on the other hand he leaves no opportunity to hit out at the country which feeds him," said an analyst.
A police official while talking to Early Times said: "We don't take him seriously as we know it very well that he (Er Rashid) stages dramas frequently. Whenever he (Er Rashid) becomes threat to law and order we arrest him and later on he is released. We can't take stern action against him as he is an elected legislator. Unfortunately he takes full advantage of him being a legislator."
Despite Er Rashid leaving no stone unturned to appease separatists, none of the separatists take him seriously. On many occasions separatists have warned him not to mess with them and have termed him as "double agent." |
