jAMMU, Aug 4: Asserting that humiliated and discriminated people of Jammu region have given overwhelming response to Jammu Bandh on the fifth day by observing complete shutdown, the Chairman of AIIMS Coordination Committee (AIIMS-CC) and President of JKHCBA, Jammu, Abhinav Sharma today said that it is a warning signal for the Valley-centric and insensitive BJP in state and centre as well. While addressing large number of gathering at the protest venue here today, Chairman of AIIMS Coordination Committee (AIIMS-CC), Abhinav Sharma said, "People of Jammu region today again rebuffed the vindictive and biased BJP by rejecting outright its appeal to ignore the bandh call and resume their normal activities." "The BJP is digging its own grave by adopting a brazenly anti-Jammu attitude to appease its masters in the Valley. The people of Jammu region will punish it like they punished other parties in the last Lok Sabha and Assembly elections to avenge their humiliations, he said. Mr Sharma said, "Misinformation campaign by BJP to make the struggling people of the region believe them that an AIIIMS has already been sanctioned for Jammu has failed and boomeranged on the ungrateful BJP." Abhinav Sharma ridiculed the claim of the clueless and senseless BJP that the ongoing agitation in Jammu for the establishment of AIIMS in Jammu was being sponsored by the Congress, the NC and the Panthers Party and reiterated that AIIMS-CC is and shall always remain non-political supported by the civil society only. "All those in various political parties who considered the ongoing agitation for the establishment of AIIMS in Jammu a fallout of the act of betrayal committed by the BJP should come forward, join the ongoing movement, strengthen the movement and prove their pro-Jammu and pro-India credentials, he added. Sharma said there is still time for the BJP to accept its guilt and announce an AIIMS for Jammu as promised without losing a moment, failing which it would suffer huge political losses in the state and rest of the country. He however also appealed to the people to get themselves prepared for a long-drawn movement. Former president of Jammu Bar Association B S Salathia and president of Amar Khastriya Rajput Sabha, Narayan Singh denounced the BJP for removing Prof Hari Om Mahajan for his association with Jammu cause and appealed BJP leaders and workers who stand for the national cause as well as Jammu cause to quit the BJP and swing behind Prof Mahajan. Slathia also informed the audience that the people of Doda, Kishtwar and Ramban districts are with the ACC and also with the Jammu and that many civil society groups like Doda Citizen Forum led by Muzaffar Baig today offered their unqualified support to the ongoing movement for the establishment of AIIMS in Jammu.
