Mahindra Finance, NSS organize Tree Plantation | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 27: NSS Unit of Govt. College for Women, Gandhi Nagar in collaboration with Mahindra Finance organized tree plantation in the College campus here today. Mahindra Finance, as part of Corporate Social responsibility donated about hundred medicinal and aromatic plant species to the college. A team of Mahindra Finance officials led by Naved Khan, Regional Manager, along with staff and NSS Volunteers of College planted various plant species including Amla (Emblica officinalis), Amaltas (Cassia fistula), Rudraksha (Elaeocarpus ganitrus), Eliachi (Elettaria cardamomum, Gulmohar (Delonix regia) etc in the college campus. Dr. Kiran Bakshi, Principal of College, who was Chief Guest on the occasion, appreciated the efforts of Mahindra Finance towards conservation of environment. She expressed her hopes for more such initiatives that benefit the society at large in the future. She also emphasized upon the NSS volunteers for planting more trees during the ongoing sadhbavana fortnight and taking proper care of these plant saplings. "Planting is not enough, caring is equally important", she added. Prominent among others present on occasion were Sanjeev Sharma, Territorial Manager and Surinder Kumar Regional HR of Mahindra Finance, Prof. Rajinder Sharma, and NSS Programme Officers Prof. Amipal Kour, Prof. Neelam Thapa and Dr. Ashaq Malik. |
