Youth gets electrocuted while fishing

rAJOURI, Aug 27: A youth died in suspicious circumstances in Rajouri when he got electrocuted during fishing by supplying electricity to the fishing net in the late night hours on Tuesday as his body was retrieved on the next morning some 259 mtrs downstream. Police have registered a case in this regard.
"The deceased has been identified as Shahid Mustaffa s/o Abdul Majid r/o Raikibanh, Rajouri, police sources said .
They said the fishing is prohibited without proper permission and the unfortunate youth chose night hours for fishing to avoid being noticed by the authorities. "He left the house in the late evening hours and when failed to return till midnight, his family members launched search along with villagers, sources said, adding, "in the early morning hours, at about 6 am people found the body on river side about 250 meters away from Raikibanh. He added police was informed about the incident and after legal formalities police took the possession of the body and after autopsy handed over it to family for his last rites.
Police sources said, "the police team collected circumstantial evidences from crime spot indicated that the youth had used electric current to kill fish by supplying it through the fishing net but accidently had touched the electric wires which perhaps has electrocuted him to death."
SHO, Police Station Darhal, SI Mohd Shrief said, ""Police have started inquest proceeding under section 174 CrPC." He also added that Police have also seized electric wires and 5 kg killed fishes from the site of incident.
