In the latest case, the case of the wife of an influential non-teaching employee is likely to be tabled in syndicate meeting, to be held on Friday. Sources alleged that to consider relaxation of age by around two years in favour of the junior assistant, the matter would be placed in tomorrow's syndicate meeting. "Rita Devi, was engaged as junior Assistant on contractual basis with effect from February 21, 2006 to ending March 2008, during period of Extra Ordinary Leave availed by Vijay Kumar Verma, Senior Assistant", sources said, adding that subsequently, she was engaged as Junior Assistant purely on contractual basis on April 10, 2008. "The Empowered Committee at its meeting held on February 11, 2015 screened the record of all the persons having completed seven years or more and recommended their regularization but, Rita Devi was not recommended for regularization due to the fact that she had rendered some of the period in leave arrangement", sources informed. They said that in the 106th University Syndicate considered the relaxation in favour of Rita Devi. "The Syndicate suggested that the matter be referred to Empowered Committee, accordingly, the matter was submitted to the members of the empowered committee by circulation and its recommended that Rita Devi be regularized also like other cases, after completing seven years contractual service on April 9, 2015", they added. Sources said that thereafter, the matter was placed before the empowered committee at its meeting held on February 18, 2015. "In the meeting it was resolved that Rita Devi be regularized as Junior Assistant against the available vacancy with effect from April 10, 2015, the date of completion of seven years' service on contractual basis after relaxation of age by the competent authority of the University", they added. They said that it is not an isolated case there are several examples where kin of influential had been benefited, allegedly by manipulating the norms. |
