Ministers sleep over pressing need to rejuvenate education infra in Sunderbani 8/28/2015 11:09:46 PM A B Sharma Early Times Report Sunderbani, Aug 28: The present dispensation in the state of Jammu and Kashmir has very tightly held on one rhetorical sloganeering pronounced by Prime Minister Narender Modi of ushering the nation into development, and the bunch of ministerial heads here are too following their masters hollow voice merrily . Take for instance a very small issue of the education scenario in Rajouri district where the schools and its masters and teachers are happily making merry, knowing that while they care two hoots for the education department, the department in reciprocation prefers to remain in deep slumber. The Education Minister of the state is PDP's Naeem Akhtar, his MoS is BJP's Priya Sethi. While the earlier remained out of reach for a query, the latter excused for attending a death occurred in the locality, the students in Lower Hattal , Sunderbani in Rajouri district are left to the mercy of nobody. A total of 80 schools are there in Sunderbani inclusive of 1 higher secondary, 39 high schools and 40 other at primary level. The irony adds here where 86 master grade teachers attending to these 80 schools are alleged to be a privileged lot who are overstaying in their home towns and have been enjoying their postings at obne place since four years to astounding ten years. Besides, there is urgent vacancy of 17 posts of master grade and 45 in teacher grade which remain unfulfilled adding insult to the highest seat of learning in Rajouri district. The government guidelines say that a posting at one place has to be of two years tenure which needs rehash in rotation. Altaf Bukhari, chief education officer Rajouri who just has taken over the posting says since he is new to assignment, he will try to streamline the things. " I have just taken over the charge . Let me go through the details of the arrangement. I will set the procedure right within one month's time," said CEPO Bukhari. The Zonal Education Officer O P Sharma who holds the post as in charge expressed his helplessness to take any initiative.
