Boards, Corporation posts filled, grouse within both ruling allies | BJP settled for a lesser share, feel insiders | |
Early Times Report Jammu, Aug 28: As the posts of almost all the Boards and Corporations stand announced by the PDP-BJP alliance, the major task that was pending before the ruling allies has been accomplished but the appointments have left many aspirants fretting and fuming within both the parties. Its leadership not having asserted for what was due as the partner in coalition, the grumbling within rank and file of BJP is that PDP has managed to get lions share with key Corporations and Commissions going to its kitty. The grouse is also for the fact that BJP leadership has obliged most of 'outsiders' while handpicking them for posts of various Boards. Sources said in its recently held meeting even as PDP-BJP Coordination Committee agreed upon various Departments of the Government held by the Ministers of the two Alliance partners, would have better understanding in future to leave no scope of misunderstanding, the major task was completed in the meeting as they decided to fill posts of chairpersons and vice chairpersons of more Boards and Corporations which they did lately. Notwithstanding the fact that PDP bagged almost every vital Commission and Corporation, BJP derived happiness what it was offered and apparently there is a visible understanding between the leaders of two parties on that. However, as both the parties have not been able to take on board those who were eyeing these posts for months, the decisions have left a disgruntled lot on either side, more on BJP's camp. The sulking, sources said is more for the fact that while a couple of BJP leaders have tried to place and adjust their own coterie against few posts, they could not see anything beyond, not to speak of asserting on what was due to BJP as an equal partner. From Women's Commission to all important Public Service Commission, PDP has managed with ease to take on board whom they wanted from day one, despite Governor of the State having rejected certain names twice, sources said, adding that PDP set this trend of getting lions share right from the day of government formation when it did not settle for anything less than all the key portfolios like Finance, Home, Public Works, Education etc. However, the blame lies not with the PDP instead the leadership within is BJP, say the sources, adding that since the party is in power for the first time, it never contests anything nor even asks for what is due to it. |
