Vijay, Saumya emerge highest scorers in State Shooting

JAMMU, Aug 31 : Vijay Kumar and Saumya Saksena emerged as highest scorers in Pistol and Rifle events respectively on the concluding day of the four-day VIth State Shooting Championship which was organised by the J&K Rifle Association (JKRA) at Gulshan Ground and DPS shooting range, here today.
Both these upcoming shooters earned 375 points each out of a total of 400. In the valedictory function of the championship, held at Gulshan ground, here president of the Association and ADGP, Dilbag Singh was chief guest, who along with other guests presented medals to the winners of various age groups in different events.
Speaking to the gathering of budding shooters, the chief guest encouraged them to do well in the upcoming national competition.
He assured all possible help from the Association to those talented marksmen of the state.
Earlier, the chief guest and other distinguished gathering welcomed by senior vice president of JKRA, KS Jamwal. Amjad Parvez Mirza presented vote of thanks. The competition was conducted by Rajesh Virdhy and Tarun Dev Singh.
