Early Times Reoprt Jammu, Aug 31: In yet another incident of capricious approach of Jammu University, the administration of Buddhist Department has cancelled entrance examination of Ph.D after the alleged paper leak. According to sources, the Department of Buddhist Studies was scheduled to conduct examinations for the Ph.D entrance, but at the eleventh hour, the administration cancelled the examinations, leaving aspiring candidates in the lurch. Meanwhile, officials of the concerned department gave another reason for the cancellation of the exam and held a "nexus" responsible for it. "The head of Buddhist Department wrote a letter to vice chancellor, claiming that the paper set for the candidates stand leaked, due to which examinations should be cancelled," asserted officials, wishing anonymity. They said this is not the first time that examination for the PhD was cancelled. Some vested interests were behind the cancellation of the exam, they alleged. A professor, wishing anonymity, said that the content of the paper was known only to "selected" persons in the department. If probe was held, the nexus, if any, could be exposed, he alleged. |
