Early Times Report JAMMU, Sept 1: The Revenue Department had forwarded a list of more than 130 people for cancellation of their Permanent Resident Certificates (PRCs) to Government, but so far the fate of list is unknown. Some people, whose names figured in the list, however questions the modus operandi for framing the list. One such person is Tripan Kumar, son of Krishan Lal, a resident of Upper Gummat, whose name figured in list of fake PRCs. While picking holes in the list, Kumar said his father had qualified Class 10 examination in 1932 from SR High School Jammu which was then affiliated with the University of Punjab. He claimed that his father was a State Subject holder, hence his family members were the state subjects, "but under mysterious circumstances, our names figured in the PRC list, which portends towards the fact that something was fishy in the entire matter." "There are many people who were not permanent residents of the State but have got PRCs while the genuine natives are termed fake PRC holders by the PRC Commission. It smacks of a deep rooted conspiracy", he said. Kumar also claimed that to save real fake PRC holders, the PRCs of some natives have been cancelled, which was totally unjust and Government should take a note of it. |
