Early Times Report Jammu, Sept 2: On the call of Central Trade Unions of the country for All India general strike, J&K joint Platform of Trade Unions organised a workers' rally against the anti-workers and anti-people policies of Modi Government Trade Union comprising CITU, INTUC, AITUC, Insurance, Banks, BSNL, central Government employees held rally at Press Club Jammu on Tuesday against government policies disinvestment/privatization and attack on workers' rights. The trade unions pressing for 12 Point Charter of demands-curb price rise, Universalization of Public Distribution System, Job Protection, Enforcement of labour laws, Social Security for Unorganised Workers, stop Disinvestment in PSUs, Minimum Wages not Less than 15000, Pension for all, Equal Wages and Benefits to the Contract Workers, Ensuring the Right to Organisation and Collective Bargaining, Removal of Ceiling of Bonus, ESI, Gratuity, Compulsory Registration of Trade unions within a period of 45 days and ratification of ILO Convention No.87 and 98, rollback anti-farmers land acquisition bill, increase allocation for MNREGA, regularization of ASHA, Anganwari, mid-day-meal workers, daily wages, contractual, needbase workers working in PHE, PDD and in other department of state government. Sham Parsad Kesar Senior Leader of CITU while addressing the gathering said that true face of the Modi Government is being exposed by its anti-working class, pro-corporate policies, adding that the big corporate had invested heavily to ensure victory of the BJP in the last parliamentary elections and now it is time for the Modi government to pay them rich dividends on their investments. Meanwhile, addressing a similar RS Pura Comrade Mandev Singh staged protest against union government for its anti-people polices. Ch Jarnail Khokhar President National Front of Indian Trade Union (NFITU) recognized by Ministry of Labour, Govt of India a labour wing of NCP under the chairmanship of veteran Trade Union leader , Former Minister Thakur Randhir Singh NCP chief J&K state which was attended by many trade Union leaders.While addressing the gathering Singh said this nation-wide strike was earlier called by 11 trade unions but RSS-led Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh has backed out of the strike reasons known to them. |
