JAMMU, Sept 3 : The newly elected Secretary of the State Sports Council, Javed Shah today accepted the long pending demand of pension benefits to the staff of the autonomous sports body. On his maiden visit to the Winter Capital after he was appointed head of the sports body on August 18 at Srinagar, the Secretary gave assurance while interacting with the managerial and other staff of the Council, here. "After giving us a patient hearing, the Secretary was kind enough to assure that the staff shall get the pension benefits. He also assured decentralization of power for quick decision making and implementation at the ground level," informed general secretary of the J&K State Sports Council Coaches Association, Satish Gupta. In the meantime, the engineering wing of the Sports Council was asked by the Secretary to complete the pending projects, especially those within the Jammu city, so that the trainees take benefit of the facilities. After listening to the difficulties and suggestions of the managerial staff, including those from Poonch, Rajouri, Udhampur and Kathua districts, the Secretary visited almost all the coaching centers within MA Stadium and in its periphery. Accompanied by the Joint Secretary (Jammu), Shiv Kumar Sharma, the Secretary paid a visit to K K Hakhu (astroturf hockey) Stadium and Green Field ground as also Shastri Nagar play field to look into the facilities. "The Secretary was keen while taking up the issues of the staff. He has motivated the working force of the Sports Council by accepting their long pending demand of pension. To listen to everyone associated with the organization, the Secretary shall be meeting the Jammu based members and coaches tomorrow," disclosed the Joint Secretary of Sports Council, Shiv Kumar Sharma. |
