Jammu, Sept 3 : Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages, Jammu today celebrated Janam Ashtami with a beautiful and colorful Bhakti Sangeet programme in association with the writers , artists and the people from the civil society in the K.L. Saigal Hall, Academy Complex, Jammu. Dr. Lalit Magotra, a prominent Dogri writer, scholar and convener, Dogri Advisory Board, Sahitya Akademi, New Delhi was the chief guest on the occasion. Expressing his views as chief guest, Dr. Lalit Magotra greeted on the eve of Krishan Janam Ashtami and extended his thanks to the J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages for giving him an opportunity to be part of Bhakti Sangeet arranged to celebrate Janamashtami. He further elaborated that such type of endeavors especially from the J&K Cultural Academy responsible for the safeguard of the Art, Culture and Languages of the state. While appreciating the activities organized during the tenureship of present Additional Secretary, Jammu Dr. Arvinder Singh Amn, he said that this has been felt in all sectors that for the first time in the history of Academy, an officer is performing his duties with responsibility, sincerety and vision. The singers who made the audience spell bound with their sweet voices were : Marina Jamwal, Km. Apurva Jamwal, Pankaj Pradhan, Arvind Kumar , Vishal Gupta and accompanist were Padmini Tickoo Rakesh Anand (Flute), Bahadur Singh (Violin), Joginder Paul (Tabla) Vickey Gill (Sinth), the said progr-amme was coordinated by Bishan Dass , Asstt.
