JAMMU, Sept 4: Even as police here are accused to be in a mood to hush up the alleged matter of a business tycoon making the MMS of a senior officer's wife, officials said the MMS was made when the woman worked with a private insurance company.
The duo had come to know each other after the woman had come in the business tycoon's contact in connection with the insurance business. He had later made her MMS clandestinely.
After the woman got married to the senior officer, the businessman continued to blackmail her, official sources alleged.
When she brought the matter to the notice of her husband, he lodged a complaint in this regard with the concerned police station. "Since the officer, who has also remained posted with the state governor, is quite influential in the state administration, police started investigation in the case, using all their resources," sources said.
But when the needle of suspicion pointed towards the businessman, police became were hesitant in taking any action against him, sources alleged.
Sources alleged that the investigation was not being taken forward now and no more suspects were being questioned by police.
The businessman has expanded his business across the country and abroad also. He too was alleged to be pressurising police to hush up the matter. |
