Akshay Azad Early Times Report JAMMU, Sept 14: The University of Jammu is likely to re-advertise a total of 12 posts out of 21 advertised in 2013, allegedly with the sole motive of adjusting some of their blue-eyed, despite the fact that nine posts are already filled while a large number of applicants have been waiting for interviews for the last two years. Sources informed Early Times that JU had advertised a total of 21 posts and applications were invited from the eligible candidates according to advertisement notice number Adm/C&R/13/19-38, dated 24/1/2013. "Applications for all posts were received by University and interviews for some posts were conducted and engagements were made but under a planned conspiracy, interviews against some posts were not conducted", source said. The posts which already stand filled, include Coach Footbal, Coach Table Tennis, Cultural Officer (Youth Welfare), Micro Analyst (Chemistry), Drame Instructor (Youth Welfare), Landscape development Officer, Electronic Assistant (Physics redesignated), Technician Workshop (physics) and Field Collector (Botany). "Those who get jobs on these posts are also drawing salaries but we have been waiting for the interviews for the last two years and now there are reports that posts will be re-advertised", an applicant said, alleging that only to adjust some blue eyed candidates, JU authorities have been mulling to re-advertise posts, despite availability of huge number of applications. The posts which are likely to be re-advertised include Employment Information Officer, Programme Officer, Patent Officer, Law Officer, Museum and Art Gallery Officer, Security Officer (Bhaderwah Campus), Field Biologist (Zoology), Draftsman (Works department), Telephone Operator, Telephone Lineman, Gasman (Physics) and Duplicating Operator. "Had the university received few applications, the posts could have been readvertised, but we know that more than two dozen applications for each post has been received by authorities"? an applicant said, adding that if the posts were re-advertised, many eligible candidates would become overage and some candidates, who were close to power corridors would be adjusted. The applicants appealed Chancellor of University Governor NN Vohra to intervene in the matter and direct University authorities to conduct interviews without any delay. Despite repeated calls, Registrar JU, Prof. Keshav Sharma did not respond. |
