Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 19 :As you sow so shall you reap is an old adage that fits well with Pakistan that claims to be in the forefront of those nations that are engaged in war against terror. During the last 30 years or so Pakistan has been exporting terror to India, first to Punjab and then to Jammu and Kashmir.
As a result of Pakistan sponsored militancy several thousand people have been killed, first in Punjab and then in Jammu and Kashmir. Several hundred people in Jammu and Kashmir have been injured most of them having been crippled by the gun or mortar hits.In fact the Army in Pakistan, the ISI in Pakistan and the extremists in Pakistan joined hands in providing material and moral support to terrorists with the result terrorist outfits mushroomed in Pakistan
And during the last over 25 years the establishment in Islamabad has enjoyed bleeding of India, especially Jammu and Kashmir,by the activities of militants. And whenever Pakistan finds that the level of violence in Kashmir has gone down its Army playes a vital role in pushing groups of militants into Jammu and Kashmir and during the last over one year the Army has-resorted to unprovoked ceasefire violations on the LoC and on the IB simply to carve out ingress passage for militants.
The game is on despite the fact that Pakistan has started facing the brunt of terrorists' strikes And the Friday's attack on Pak Air Force base in Peshawar is one among series of such attacks in different parts of Pakistan during the last two to three years. In the Friday's attack over 42 people, including 13 terrorists, were killed
Reports said that several people were killed on Friday when heavily armed Taliban militants launched a brazen attack on an air force base and a mosque inside it in this restive Pakistani city Peshawar, in one of the major terror assaults on a military facility that also left 13 terrorists dead.
A group of gunmen wearing explosives-laden jackets and armed with hand-propelled grenades, mortars, AK-47 rifles attacked a guard post as they tried to fight their way into the Badaber air base on outskirts of Peshawar, the capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.Thirteen terrorists were killed by security forces, according to official sources. In fact during the last one year over 500 people, including scores of Pak soldiers, police, and men of the Rangers have been killed in terrorist strikes, including suicide attacks.
While the Pak soldiers were busy in eliminating terrorists who had attacked the Air Force base another group of Pakistani soldiers were trying to assist a group of militants in sneaking into the Kashmir valley. The alert Indian troops launched an operation to foil an infiltration bid in north Kashmir's Bandipore in which five suspected militants have been killed so far.
The Army said that an encounter erupted close to Line of Control (LoC) in Kanzalwan, Gurez, nearly 120 kms from Srinagar when a group of militants was intercepted while they were trying to sneak into the Valley from the Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK).
The Army said, "In the initial exchange of fire, two unidentified militants were killed, adding that, two more militants were killed later on.
The Army said four AK 47 rifles have also been recovered from the encounter site. This is the first infiltration bid that has been foiled in Gurez sector this year. Majority of the infiltration bids in 2015 have been foiled in frontier Kupwara district
What amazes all those nations that are engaged in war against terror is the way that on one side Pakistan has been providing moral, material and diplomatic support to terrorists operating in jammu and Kashmir and those trying to cross into the Indian state on the other the very nation that has helped boys to take to the gun is tormented by those very terrorist who were provided all help in their resurgence.
It is time Pakistan, its Army and the ISI review their policy, especially their anti-India policy,so that Islamabad is no longer tormented by those terrorists who had been supported, aided and milked by Pak Army and extremists in Pakistan.
What is painful is the extent of damage and destruction these Pak raised terrorists have caused to Afghanistan and Jammu and Kashmir.A bigger damage to Pakistan itself.Hence it is now mandatory for Pakistan to learn from past experience and give up its policy of sowing terror in India because by now Islamabad would have realized that the old adage of as you sow so shall you reap has to be kept in mind while closing all arms training camps. It can join hands with India and Afghanistan in ensuring that the menace of terrorism was tackled effectively.
