Who is responsible for increasing gulf between Kashmir and Jammu?
9/19/2015 11:36:56 PM
Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 19: Who is responsible for the deteriorating law and order situation in the state and the widening gulf between people of different religions and regions of the state?
The answer must be with the PDP-BJP coalition government, which in March this year had given only one reason for the Government formation: to bring people of Kashmir and Jammu closer.
But what people are seeing for past more than six months is a total opposite to what was promised. As Muslims have taken one side of protesting against beef ban and are slaughtering bovine animals in full public view and also uploading the videos on social networking sites, Hindus of Jammu want the ban to be implemented in letter and spirit.
This issue is taking the state to the extreme, and secular fabric is depleting by the day. It seems that hardliners on both sides have taken over the reins of the state and no government is in place.
When the government was formed, people of Jammu were of the opinion that it is for the first time that they have got real representatives and the decade long ordeal will end soon. People of the Valley were of the opinion that PDP took an extreme step of shaking hands with BJP and it might help them in getting the peace back.
But nothing like such is being witnessed, and the fact of the matter is that extremism is getting deep inside and people are falling to the trap laid by some elements in Kashmir valley and some elements sitting in orange city of the country.
Instead of bringing people together and integrating the state in the real sense, this government has disappointed one and all. It might be a matter of time when this gap gets bigger and bigger and will be out of control.
