Jammu, Oct 3: A fast track court today rejected the bail application of Kapil Dhar who was booked by police in a rape and fraud case. According to the police case, petitioner in 2011 approached the prosecutrix with the marriage proposal, telling her that he was in deep love with her and wants to marry her. Initially, she refused but on repeated persuasions and assurance of the accused, she accepted the proposal and both of them were in love affair since 2011 and under the grab of said promise to marriage, accused had sexually assaulted the victim on many occasions and it appears that in October 2012, the accused took some nude clips and videos of the victim and threatened her that in case she will force him to marry her, he will upload the clips on social media. On this, police registered a case. Fast Track Court presiding officer Y P Kotwal, after hearing the APP, observed that the case registered against the accused was very heinous and moreover the investigation was at intital stage and if the accused was released on bail at this stage and his remaining outside would cause deleterious effect on the minds of general public and thwart the cause of justice. With these observations, the court rejected his bail application. (-JNF) |
