JAMMU, Oct 3: The Jammu University has been blamed for selectively honouring directions of the High Court related to issues of its employees. An aggrieved teacher pleading anonymity told Early Times that in one case an employee was allowed to continue as contractual teacher in the Distance Education Department in accordance with court directive. "Many other teachers went to the court and the court gave similar orders in their favour. The orders were, however, not honoured by the varsity administration," the teacher said. "The administration is adopting different yardsticks for different cases of similar nature." In another case, a driver working on contractual basis was disengaged on July 31 this year as per order No: Estab/15/12541-54 dated 10-9-2015 issued by Registrar of Jammu University. Sources said the aggrieved driver approached the High Court, which stayed his termination order on September 10. "But such directives are seldom honoured," said sources. "The babus in the university are in no mood to abide by the court orders. This has marred chances of regularization of temporary employees who have put in their heart and soul whilst working in the university for years together," sources added. |
