Early Times Report
Srinagar, Oct 4: A devotee has taken up the task to reconstruct the famous shrine of Mata Jawala Ji at Khrew, Pampore in south Kashmir. The shrine was gutted in a devastating fire incident nine months ago but government made no effort to restore the pristine glory of the shrine. A devotee of Mata Badri Nath Bhat, of nearby village Zewan took the onus on himself and started the reconstruction of the holy shrine which is the presiding deity of Kashmiri Hindus out of his own resources with active support of local karsevaks led by a social activist RaviJi Bhat of Ladhoo.
A local contractor Bashir Ahmad Chopan has executed an agreement to complete the work in stipulated time before the onset of winter and funds for the same were provided by Badri Nath Bhat. The workers with the contingent of horses are carrying material and machinery on a difficult terrain.
A gigantic effort of carrying the mixer to hilltop was worth watching, which took about three days to reach the top. A team of engineers/architects from Delhi headed by Ravi Bhat of Khrew are providing their valuable technical guidance. The Asthapan is one of the revered Shakti Peeths in the Valley and Mata Jawala Ji, Ishtdevi of Kashmiri Pandits has special religious significance. Badri Nath Bhat while talking to reporters along with all Karsevaks said he is indebted to Mata's greatness for providing a chance to serve at the lotus feet of JawalaJi. "My prayers for last 20 years have at last borne fruit by giving me an opportunity to reconstruct this shrine", says Badri Nath Ji with tears of devotion. It is worth mentioning here that this devotee has been conducting yearly hawan/puja on the day of sacred Har Chodah every year during past 25 years.
Ravi Ji Bhat of Village Ladhoo beaming with confidence assured that most of the work of temple (main component) would be completed before the onset of winter. He has planned to reconstruct the damaged Dhoni Sahib Mandir at Swami Jeewan Sahib Asthapan Ladhoo and Sedeshwar Mahadev Mandir at Pampore(1st padav of Amarnath Yatra) with support of Baradari members of the area in particular, and Kashmiri Pandits in general residing throughout the globe.
He is thankful to Dharmarth Trust and others for providing this opportunity especially the role of M.K Raina of Khrew along with his team is praise worthy in backing this noble initiative of Karsevaks. He also appreciated the role of local people in providing moral support and appealed the government to strengthen this noble cause of preservation of Kashmiri heritage in the Valley.
