Early Times Report RAJOURI, Oct 04: Over a dozen persons were today booked by police for assaulting an alleged bovine smuggler in Rajouri town on September 14 last. Some Rajouri people observed 2-day bandh as mark of protest against the incident. Police said the accused would be taken into custody soon. Meanwhile, in another incident, a local BJP leader and at least 11 others were booked for allegedly trying to incite communal tension in Rajouri district. The BJP leader and his public relations officer were booked for allegedly circulating a morphed picture with communal overtones on WhatsApp, police said. The message was circulated on September 14 and the case was registered soon after police had come to know about the incident, police said. The BJP leader had allegedly uploaded the picture on a WhatsApp group created by Sharma, police said. While the BJP leader was absconding, his PRO was being questioned, police informed. |
