Kathua, Oct 5 : Principal Police Training School Kathua Sanjeev Khajuria inaugurated the Inter District State Level u/19 years Cricket tournament here at Sports Stadium Kathua. The tournament organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports under the patronage of Director General Youth Services and Sports J&K Jahangir Mir under chairmanship of Joint Director Madan Lal and supervision of Sunil Kumar District Youth Services and Sports Officer Kathua. Nisar Ahmed Khan Additional SP Kathua was guest of honors.
ZPEO Kailash Chander welcomed the guests and teams of the State by presenting bouquet in the presence of ZPEOs Rajesh Sharma, Pawan Kumar, Joint Organizing Secretary Kuldeep Singh, Joint Organising Secretary Joginder Kumar Khajuria, Mohan Lal Dub, Hari Gopal Sharma, Ajay Kumar and Darshan Kumar.
As Many 241 players of 16 Districts viz Kathua, Jammu, Udhampur, Samba, Rajouri, Poonch, Reasi, Kupwara, Baramulla, Ganderbal, Srinagar, Kulgam, Shopian, Kishtwar, Doda and Anantnag are participating in the Three Day's tournament at Sports Stadium Kathua and District Police Lines Kathua.
Principal Sanjeev Khajuria declared the tournament open by playing the ball of Nisar Ahmed Khan Adl. SP. Kathua
The technical penal is comprised of ZPEO Rajesh Kumar, Mohan Lal Dub, Parveen Singh, Vikas Gupta, Jai Paul Singh Kuldeep Kumar, Parbhat Singh, Ram Lubaya, Kanwar Singh, Avinash Kumar , Sandeepan Sharma and Kulbhushan Singh.
Meanwhile the opening Match was played between Poonch and Baramulla in which Baramulla gave the target of 106 runs in prescribed 15 overs to Poonch. In reply District Poonch achieved the target easily by losing just 04 wickets.
Imran Sohail of Poonch collect 29 runs in 27 deliveries, Amandeep and Nadeem of same district clinched 2 wickets each. Thus Poonch won by 07 wickets.
On the other side at District Police Lines District Doda defeated District Reasi by 15 runs. District Doda gae the target of 94 runs but District Reasi declined at 78 runs in all 15 overs. Vinay of Doda collects 19 runs in 11 balls. Thus Doda won by 15 runs.
Raghbir Puri, Sanjeev Sunny, Virender Singh, Tilak Raj, Mohinder Paul, Veena Devi, Sanjay Gupta were also present on the occasion. |
