SAMBA, Oct 5: Foiling two bovine smuggling bids, Samba police have arrested five persons and rescued 10 animals. Police sources said seven animals were being smuggled in a Mahindra Bolero jeep (JK02BG/4023) when a police team led by Vijaypur police station SHO, SI Rajeshwar Singh intercepted it. The cattle were rescued and two persons were arrested in this regard. The accused included Bhag Hussain, son of Babu of Rakh Barotian and Bhag Ali, son of Gahiya of Doulat Chak, Ramgarh. Another police team led by Ramgarh police station SHO, SI Bansi Lal arrested Baljeet Singh, son of Harbans Singh, Mohan Singh, son of Amarjeet Singh, both residents of Khour Bhauan, R S Pura, and Anil Kumar, son of Vibhishan Kumar, after they were found illegally carrying three bovine animals in a load carrier (JK21/7235). Police have registered cases in this connection. |
