Jammu, Oct 6: The today's shootout outside the district court complex here has raised questions over the security scenario in the courts at Janipura here.
The incident also speaks volumes about the ignorance of the court's order regarding issuance of electronic identity cards to the lawyers to plug in any eventualities. The order was issued to the Inspector General of Police (security) on 1.9 .2014. A petition in this connection was filed by Advocate Sumit Nayyar. However, police department took the directives of court lightly.
According to sources, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Jammu, has ordered suspension of in-charge police post High Court, SI Dalip Singh and attached SHO of Janipura police station, Inspector Ajeet Singh and initiated a fact finding inquiry against SHO Gandhi Nagar Inspector Bishnesh Kumar. The responsibility of the inquiry has been entrusted to SP North Shiv Dev Singh Chouhan.
Those arrested in the case included Davinder Singh alias Bunty, son of Rajinder Singh of New Plot, Jasvinder Singh, son of Gurbachan Singh of Nanak Nagar, Karanjeet Singh, son of Amarjeet Singh of Patoli, Janipur, Rajinder Sharma, son of Subash Chander of old Janipur, Ranjodh Singh alias Nalwa, son of Gurbaksh Singh of Talab Tillo, and Pranvat Singh, son of Manmohandas Singh of Gadi Garh. |
