Dy. CM for fast track completion of Bus Stand modernization project

jammu, Oct 6: Deputy Chief Minister, Dr. Nirmal Singh today directed the officers and executing agencies to synergise their efforts to complete the prestigious Bus Stand modernization project on a fast track basis.
The Deputy Chief Minister was speaking at a meeting convened to work out modalities for fast tracking the prestigious project of modernization/development of General Bus Stand cum Multi-level Car parking cum commercial complex at Jammu coming up at a cost of Rs. 201 crore.
Commissioner Secretary, Housing and Urban Development Department, Mr. Bipul Pathak, Vice Chairman, JDA, Mr. Mubarak Singh, and Mr. Ashok Kapoor, Superintending Engineer besides representatives of project executing agencies were present in the meeting.
Dr. Singh said that the project is very significant for the public of the State as it will provide better facility of Bus Stand besides adding Multilevel Car Parking for more than 1300 cars to decongest the surrounding areas. It will also provide facilities like Food Courts, shopping Malls, open restaurants etc for locals as well as tourists. The project has been designed in such a way that it is compatible with surrounding ambience and cityscape of the historic Jammu city. The G+5 floors of the building will have all modern amenities viz., HVAC, Lifts, Escalators, Water and Waste Management etc. and a dedicated power back up system.
The Deputy Chief Minister directed the officers to work in tandem with other departments and the executing agency to ensure the completion of the project within the stipulated time frame.
The Commissioner Secretary, Housing and Urban Development Department, Bipul Pathak informed the meeting that the letter of intent has already been issued by the Vice Chairman JDA to the EPC Contractor and letter of Award has also been given to the agency. He said the necessary contract agreement with the executing agency shall be signed soon.
The project architect explained in detail the salient features of the project besides presenting the methodology and construction schedule for completion of the project within the stipulated period of 24 months.
