srinagar, Oct 6: For the second consecutive day uproarious scenes were witnessed in the Legislative Council today after the members of National Conference and Congress reached Well of House and raised strong protest against the State Government on different issues.
Legislative Council chairman Haji Anayat Ali ordered for the suspension of National Conference members Ali Mohammad Dar and Showkat Hussain Ganie after they stood up on the reporters table and carried out protests against the Government. The Council chairman also ordered for the marshalling out of the members of NC and Congress after they did not pay any heed to his repeated pleas to conduct the Question Hour in the House.
This morning as the Council started its business the NC and Congress members stood up and wanted to know about the fate of adjournment motions moved by them. While NC had moved the adjournment motion seeking discussion on protection of Article 35-A the Congress members had moved the adjournment motion seeking discussion on regularization of daily wagers and also shortage of ration in the state.
Members of both National Conference and Congress wanted immediate deferment of Question Hour and discussion on issues raised by them through adjournment motions. However, to their utter dismay the Council chairman asked the members of PDP and BJP to ask questions and seek answers from the concerned Ministers.
Seeing that their voice is not heard the Congress and NC members reached Well of the House and resorted to high pitch sloganeering against the Government. Members like Bashir Ahmad Shah (Veeri), Ali Mohammad Dar, Sajad Ahmad Kichloo, Showkat Hussain Ganie, Dr. Shehnaz Ganie, Qaisar Jamshed Lone, Rani Bloeria, Mohammad Muzaffar Parray, Naresh Gupta, Ghulam Nabi Monga and Jugal Kishore could be seen raising slogans against the Government.
The NC and Congress members tried their best to reach the Council chairman's podium and snatch the mike. However, they failed to do so and such the Question Hour continued. Ali Dar and Showkat Ganie after noticing that their protest is getting waste stood up on the reporters table and tore apart the schedule of questions listed for the day. The Council chairman requested both the members to come down from the table as it is against parliamentary ethics. However, both Dar and Ganie paid no heed and carried on their protest.
While the Question Hour was on CAPD Minister Zulfiqar Ali stood up and requested the Council chairman to order for immediate suspension of Dar and Ganie. Following this the Council chairman announced that both the NC members are suspended for the rest of the session. He directed the marshals to take out both Dar and Ganie from the House. Orders were also issued for the immediate eviction of remaining NC and Congress members as they were carrying out with their protests.
The NC and Congress members could be seen raising slogans like 'BJP-PDP Sarkar Hai Hai', 'Modi-Mufti Sarkar Hai Hai' and 'Nagpur Sarkar Hai Hai'. On the other side the PDP and BJP members could be seen raising slogans like 'Chor Machaye Shor'. The House took up the Question Hour and carried out remaining business as well.
