Srinagar, Oct 07: Stating that the Srinagar Jammu highway has faced neglect after 1947, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mufti Muhammad Sayeed Wednesday said, it is delightful to see that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi is taking his personal interest in the National highway.
He also said that State government has taken the construction of Doda-Kishtwar road as its top priority.
The Chief Minister while replying to the calling attention motion moved by Congress legislator G M Saroori during the zero hour in the Legislative Assembly said. CM said that the Prime Minister personally chaired a meeting on this issue as well in which the contract of Srinagar-Qazigund highway stretch was cancelled and the new contractor been assigned the job
CM claimed that in the next one-and- a-half-year, Srinagar-Jammu highway should be fully functional.
