"Powerful" Inspector gets PS of his choice
10/8/2015 12:26:44 AM

Early Times Report
jammu, Oct 7: A police Inspector, termed as "powerful" in police circles, has utilised the services of a BJP Minister to get a police station of his choice in Rajouri district.
Before his transfer to Rajouri, he was posted in Jammu where he remained posted as SHO of several police stations. Though he faced allegations of corruption against him, he continued to head one police station after the other in Jammu.
However, as the allegations of corruption piled up, he was transferred to Rajouri by the zonal police headquarters. In Rajouri, he was posted as SHO of a remote police station. Since he was not satisfied with his posting, he utilised the services of a BJP Minister to get a choice posting.
Police sources said the BJP Minister telephoned a senior police officer in Rajouri and asked him to post the Inspector in a police station either in Rajouri town or in an area close to it. The officer obliged the Minister and posted the Inspector as the SHO of a police station of his choice, the sources added.
When he was in CID, he had got his wing changed on the last day of the superannuation of a senior police officer, sources said.
Though he owned a house in a city's peripheral locality, he was not transferred even during the last Assembly polls in the State because of the reason that his ancestral place did not fall in Jammu district.
