Whispers get loud within BJP: Replace Nirmal Singh as DyCM
Reshuffle likely after Bihar polls

Early Times Report
Jammu, Oct 29: Even as an undertone against the Deputy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh was already in rank and file of state unit of BJP, the murmurs in the air have become loud that he should not be allowed to continue on this prestigious post for various reasons. The replacement is likely in the reshuffle that may be effected by the central leadership after Bihar polls.
Sources said there is a strong undercurrent for his replacement as the party leaders  have desired this post being crucial in terms of sentiments of the people of Jammu, needed to be given to someone who could assert  with affirmed viewpoint on issues that have become contentious in the PDP-BJP alliance, doing more harm to BJP as the ally. Most of the leaders contend the party has a large team of 25 MLAs from within the high command should take one having  acceptability in the party for the post of Deputy Chief Minister, sources said.
Sources further said that not only the BJP but its sister organisations including the parent body RSS too is not all happy with Dr Nirmal Singh nor satisfied with his performance as Deputy Chief Minister, second in hierarchy to head of the state.  For all these organisations feel Nirmal Singh despite being in the highest chair has failed the party and people of Jammu where he was considered no less than the Chief Minister, BJP having got this opportunity of representation in power for the first time with a mandate of 25 MLAs.
However, he failed to come up to expectations particularly in the backdrop of certain controversies which injured the image of BJP in the eyes of people and left it smashed , on certain matters beyond damage control, like for instance on AIIMS for Jammu, the recent ones being additional burden of tax on helicopter service to Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine, besides the beef controversy on which the party could not handle things in a better way, the onus being more on the Deputy Chief Minister. It has also been viewed with concern that while PDP grabbed most of the vital political posts in its kitty in a tactical manner, BJP led by Deputy CM could not ask for nor assert for an equal share for the same .
Sources said the anger against the Deputy Chief Minister  aggravated over the last few months for the fact that he has not been able to assert neither in the cabinet meeting on larger issues which affect the party’s credibility nor when the issues take the shape of the controversies which erupted in the recent past, sources said. On the contrary PDP has let these issues tilt in favour of the party, without any resistance from BJP ministers, senior ones like Deputy CM in particular, sources said these as the factors that have attributed to aversion for the latter, whose silence more often than not on most of the occasions has not been received well by the high command.
