srinagar, Oct 29: Vindicating the stand of New Delhi which claims that it is the Pakistan army which is controlling the Kashmir Policy and not the political leadership, the Huriyat hawk Syed Ali Geelani has said that it is the Pak army general Rahil Shareef who is taking care of Pakistan's Kashmir policy.
Geelani who is known within the political spectrum for his anti- India and pro-Pakistan rant made this revelation during an interview with a news organisation, saying it is Rahil Shareef who is behind Pakistan's Kashmir policy.
In August, this year, Government of India cancelled the foreign secretary level talks, blaming Pakistan for taking diktats from army over formulating its Kashmir policy.
India's national security advisor Ajot Doval and the home minister Rajnath singh had been making the claims that about Pak army's domination in drafting Pakistan's plans for Kashmir.
One of the prime reasons that the GOI cancelled the NSA level talks two months earlier was that the then NSA Pak Sartaj Aziz had met the Pak army cheif, following the invitation to Kashmir's separatist camp for meeting Pak NSA in New Delhi on August 23.
Now, the hardliner and pro Pak separatist Syed Ali Geelani's revelations about Rahil Shareef's direct involvement into country's Kashmir policy is no less than spilling beans at this crucial juncture.
Geelani in an interview has state that there is a visible and positive change in Pakistan's Kashmir policy. "I want to give credit of it to Rahil Shareef; the stand he took vis-a-vis Kashmir after assuming charge of Pakistan's army chief is commendable. But internal situation in Pakistan is worrying for us. Tehreek-e-Taliban (TT) is the worst enemy of Pakistan," said Geelani.
At a time when Pakistan is claiming to be not taking any diktats from the army, such a statement from no other than Syed Ali Geelani could change the tables around.
In the backdrop of Prime Minister Modi 's visit to the state on November 7 and likely announcement of the political package, the statement of Syed Ali Geelani is likely to affect the scenes.
The government of India has been since day one targeting Pakistan over giving free hand to its army to go scott-free. There are political parties, strategic experts are of the opinion that it is the army and not the political leadership of Pakistan which is running the country.
Syed Ali Geelani has only vindicated such claims being made by the GOI. Though late, but the hawk seems to be revealing the truth.
