Jammu, Nov 2: For thousands of candidates, who had appeared for the screening test for the 152 posts of Assistant Engineer (AE), Civil conducted by the Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC) on September 13 last, the wait for the result is getting too long and a sense of frustration is setting in amongst many of them.
According to few of the aggrieved aspirants who approached Early Times, the delay in the announcement of the result is a deliberate attempt by some of the elements within the JKPSC who are trying hard to get fresh screening test conducted so that their blue eyed candidates who did not fare well could get another chance to be in the reckoning. “We have already waited for so long as the process of selecting AEs, Civil has almost taken two and a half years since three separate notifications were issued from time to time.
“Though such type of delay is not associated with the JKPSC, some of the candidates who performed poorly in the screening test are trying their level best to get this exam cancelled…. These selfish candidates are applying every trick to pressurize the JKPSC authorities in order to get the screening test cancelled,” he added.
The group of candidates further said that the aspirants could not do well in the exam are raking up frivolous objections like the questions asked in the exam were taken from one particular book viz-a-viz the alleged leakage of question papers just to ensure that the screening test is re-conducted.
They said that in order to check the veracity of allegations made by the self-centered candidates, the JKPSC had ordered an internal inquiry which is still pending.
“It is obvious that such candidates have failed in proving their mettle in the screening test and now disturbing the selection process….We have made repeated requests to hasten the selection process which has taken more than two years now,” said the distressed aspirants.
Meanwhile, when the JKPSC authorities were contacted by Early Times to take their side of the version in this matter, they informed that the issue will be resolved soon.
“The inquiry initiated by the JKPSC to look into the allegations of leakage and other aspects involved in the matter is going on…..Since we had to deal with different angles, that is why it has taken some time but hopefully a final decision will be taken by November 10 or 11 as we have also received a Police report who probed the matter,” said Secretary JKPSC, Shakeel-ur-Rehman.
