Bindrawala poster row: Sikhs take matter to court, seek CBI inquiry | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Nov 24: After the lapse of five months of 'Bindrawala poster row' incident, the Sikh community led by former President of J&K State Sikh Gurdwara Prabandak Board Sundershan Singh Wazir filed a writ petition in the High Court seeking an indepth investigation by CBI to probe the death of a Sikh youth who was killed during violent protest. This was revealed during a joint press conference addressed by Sundershan Singh Wazir and other community leaders. Speaking to media persons, Wazir said, "We (community) have sought a compensation of Rs Twenty Five Lakh to be paid to the deceased's family and also the court monitored investigation through CBI into the incident." He however questioned the stand of some of community leaders for their satisfaction over the FIR No 112/2015 registered at Police Station Satwari Jammu and said that no further action was taken by the so called SIT headed by S Randhir Singh, SP Head Quarters Jammu. He held responsible the Sikh leaders who were engaged in talk with the government for their failure to reach on some logical end. Meanwhile Wazir also invited attention of the Divisional Commissioner Jammu into the incident. |
