Jammu, Nov 24: Department of Geology of GGM Science College, Jammu organised a Symposium on "Heritage: its connection with our roots" as a part of celebration of World Heritage Week was started from November 19 and scheduled to be culminated on November 25. According to press release, in the daylong symposium, 30 students of undergraduate and postgraduate classes were participated. The oral and power point presentations were made by the students of geology covering topics on national heritage, State heritage with focus on Jammu heritage, Kashmir heritage and Ladakh heritage. In this programme, Principal, GGM Science College, Jammu, Prof. Ajeet Angral was the chief guest and AM Bhat, Sr. Manager, JKTDC was the guest of honour. While addressing the students, Principal of the college appreciated the department of geology for taking innovative steps in developing the department's museum of a national repute. The programme was compeered by Sugeeta Sharma, It commenced with welcome address by Dr. Sukh Chain Sharma. Dr. C.K Khajuria, Head, Department of Geology presented key note address. The vote of thanks was presented by Dr. S.K Karlupia. |
