Various institutions celebrate Gurupurab with fervour, gaiety

Jammu, Nov 24: Various educational institutions today celebrated 546th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev ji with religious fervor and gaiety.
Sri Guru Gobind Singh Public, H. Sec. School organised programme in the school auditorium. Student from all the classes participated in the programme recited shabad kirtan in the praise of true Guru. Students also delivered lecture on the life and teaching of Guru Nanak Dev Ji. Chairman of school Prof. Harbans Singh congratulated the students and staff and asked the students to follow the path shown by Guru.
Rich Harvest Shastri Nagar organized special assembly conducted on this occasion wherein children came dressed as " Panj Pyaras" and recited Shabads and Gurunanak Devji 'sayings'. Children were told about the importance of this festival and about the life of Shri Gurunanak Devji and the values preached by him. Kada prasada was also distributed amongst the children.
Guru Nanak Dev Jayanti was celebrated with great enthusiasm and fervor at Chand nagar & Janipur Branch of May Fair Schools, Jammu. Students won the heart of the audience by reciting the 'Holy Shabad '. Vijay Basur, Chairperson of the institution emphasized that one of the most beautiful ways to honour our great Guru is to share the spirit of universal brotherhood of peace. On this occasion, Abhey Basur - Director, May Fair Schools & Ranjit Kour - Principal, May Fair Schools threw light on the teachings of guru Nanak Dev Ji while.
To promote national integration and communal harmony the NSS unit of Govt. College of Education, Jammu celebrated 'Gurupurab' in the college premise. Principal of the College Prof. (Dr.) Kaushal Smotra along with faculty members and students were present in the occasion. NSS volunteer Bharti Sharma through her presentation spread the message of harmony and oneness which reminded the message of Guru Nanak Dev JI.
A Symposium was organized by Sant Mela Singh College of Education under the aegis of Population Education and Adult & Continuing Education clubs" on 547th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji on the topic "Guru Nanak Dev Ji's Contributions as Guru." The programme started with recitation of Shabad by the students of the College. 16 students of the College participated in the Symposium & they threw light on the teachings & contribution of Guru Nanak Dev Ji towards social reforms. Chairman of the College,Prof. Anmol Singh was the chief guest on the occasion. In his address, he laid stress that our youth should follow the preachings of the great Guru ji, which are very important to maintain peace & harmony in the present society.
Madhuvan Kids Play way celebrated the birth anniversary of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji. The event included Kirtan followed by Shabad. It was celebrated to mark the Parkash Utsav of Guru Nanak Dev, while apprising children of its significance. The atmosphere was devotional & blissful. Students came dressed in traditional attires Sang hyumns,Later they enjoyed 'Prasad' & Sweets were distributed among the children. Principal Amrit Choudhary wished prosperity and peace to all while highlighting the need to follow Guru's teachings.
S M Shishu Niketan Hr. Sec. School Anand Nagar, Patta Bohri, Jammu celebrated "GURUPURAB" with great pomp and show in the presence of Managing Director Parneesh Mahajan, Liaison Officer Harvinder Singh Sihotra, Principal Manikarnika Bhasin, Co-ordinator Kawaljeet Kour and Staff. A special assembly was held in which the teachers gave the demonstration to the students regarding this occasion. The Students were dressed up in Guru Nanak Dev Ji's costumes. Speaking on the occasion, Managing Director Parneesh Mahajan said on this auspicious occasion of Gurupurab I wish that you are showered with Guru Ji's divine blessings today & forever.
To celebrate Gurupurab, the 546 birthday of Guru Nanak dev ji the students of KPS, Barnoti participated in Kirtan Darbar today at Gurudwara Sahib Shri Guru Singh Sabha , main bazar, Kathua. Er. Nirmaljit Singh chairman, Kartar Educational Trust, Barnoti, and Charanjit Singh Bhola President DGPC Kathua also accompanied the students to the gurudwara sahib. On the occasion while paying the rich tributes to the "Jagat Guru" Shri Guru Nanak Dev ji.
Jammu Sanskriti School, Jammu celebrated Guru Nanak Jayanti in the school premises today. A special assembly was organized on this occasion which started with Mool Mantra presented by students of pre primary wing. Students and teachers presented Holy Shabad. Yuvraj singh of class VI spoke about teachings of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji. Preaching of GURU NANAK DEV JI by Beant Kaur who helped the children to understand more about the great work done by Guru Nanak Dev Ji in eradicating the evils from the society.
Kidzee Pre-school of Zee Learn Ltd. celebrated "GURUPURAB"at its branches: - Anand Nagar Bohri, Gandhi Nagar, Channi Himmat and Talab Tillo with great pomp and show. The function started with the special assembly in which the students were given demonstration regarding this festival. The small kids were dressed up in Guru Nanak Dev ji's costumes. On this auspicious occasion of Gurupurab everyone wished that they might be showered with the divine blessings of Guru Nanak Dev Ji today & forever.
JKPS Kunjwani organized a special assembly was conducted on the eve of Guru Nanak Dev's birthday. The students were enlightened about the life and teachings of the Guru. Hymns or shabads in praise of God were recited by the students. The whole atmosphere was very solemn. S K Singh, Principal, advised the students to understand the teachings of Guru Nanak Dev which were applicable universally for good conduct of a human being.
R.M.Public School celebrated Gurupurab of Guru Nanak Dev ji with great zeal and enthusiam. The students and teachers performed Shabad Kirtan during the occasion. Parshad is distributed among the students at the last. Trustee Rita Mengi and Principal Mrs Ravinder kour also greeted the students as well as teachers on the eve of Gurupurab.
JK Montessorie Sr. Sec. School and its affiliated unit JK little Millennium international school celebrated Guru Nanak's Birthday with great enthusiasm & zeal in the school premises here today. Students of classes Ist, 2nd, and 3rd organized a special event about the significance of the Guru Nanak's Birth day by presenting a dramatic stage show on life history of " Guru Nanak"- first Guru of Sikhs. Special assembly was conducted where students of class 2nd & 3rd spoke about Guru Nanak Dev ji."Shabad Kirtan & Paath" was the main highlight of the event.
