Early Times Report JAMMU, NOV 24: The Committee on Public Undertakings (PUC) of Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly Tuesday directed the officers of Jammu and Kashmir State Road Transport Corporation (JKSRTC) to conduct survey of all available land and other assets of the Corporation in and outside the State and submit a report to Assembly Secretariat for perusal of the Committee Members. This instruction was given by the panel, which met under the Chairmanship of MLA, Rajeev Jasrotia here today. The Committee also directed that a comprehensive plan should be prepared to make judicious use of these assets. Members stressed that judicious utilization of available assets for commercial purposes will help to improve the financial resources of the Corporation. The Committee asked the authorities to auction all unserviceable buses and purchase new buses as per the norms. It also stressed on enhancing fleet of JKSRTC buses plying in remote and hilly areas including Jammu-Kathua, Jammu-Doda- Bhaderwah and Jammu-Rajouri-Poonch. Among others, Principal Accountant General, Secretary, Transport, Special Secretary, Transport, Managing Director, JKSRTC besides other senior officers of Corporation and Assembly Secretariat were present in the meeting. |
