Early Times Report UDHAMPUR, Nov 25 : Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) Project Udhampur organized a mass awareness programme in which ICDS supervisors, Anganwari workers, Helpers and locals participated in large number. The main objective of the programme was to make local population aware about the services of ICDS. Spokesperson said that similar awareness camps were held in far flung areas like Dudu Basantgarh, Gordi, Pancheri, Ramnagar in which CDPO Udhampur who is holding 5 projects assigned by social welfare briefed the locals about various achievements of the department. "During these awareness programmes the locals were made aware about the six services of ICDS which include Immunizations, Supplementary Nutrition, Nutrition and Health Education, Referral services, Non formal Pre School Education and Health checkups, spokesperson added. CDPO had directed supervisors and workers to involve panchayats and to lay stress on community participation and community mobilization so that implementation of schemes get focus and to increase the number of beneficiaries. |
