Early Times Report Jammu, Nov 25: Aarakshan Virodhi Manch Jammu (AVMJ) today held its meeting under the chairmanship of its President Ram Paul Seth in which threadbare discussions were held over the problems being faced by unreserved categories. Addressing the meeting Seth said that it was unfortunate and bad luck of the country that caste-based reservation is still continued as a political gimmick and vote bank plank in the country. He demanded total end of reservation after the ending of reservation in Promotion in the country following the verdicts of Supreme Court of India & High Court of J&K. Seth lambasted upon the Governments of ignoring & neglecting the poor, needy & deserving of unreserved categories. Terming 'reservation' a temporary arrangement for limited period and not a fundamental right as claimed by some political leaders, Seth asked the organizations which called court's verdicts unconstitutional & illegal might file petition in court to know whether reservation in their fundamental right or a temporary arrangement which could be ended. Yash Paul Sanson, Gen Secretary of the Manch demanded Special Support Measure (SSM) for the people who are needy and deserving irrespective of their caste, religion & region. Sanson called reservation a big blot on the fair name of Indian democracy, secularism and utter violation of UN Charter of Human Rights which creates discrimination, division among the people and sows hate-seeds in the brain of people.
