RAMBAN, Nov 25: The 457th birth anniversary of the founder of the Sikhism, Guru Nanak Dev Ji was celebrated in Ramban district with religious fervour and devotional gaiety today.
The main programme in the district was organised by the Gurudwara Prabhandak Committee, Batote at the Gurudwara Singh Sabha, here, where the devotees listened to the Shabad Keertan and Katha besides the life history of Guru Nanak Dev Ji by the prominent Sikh saints and intellectuals. For the past eleven days the Prabhaat Pheries were being taken out through the Batote market from this Gurdwara in the wee hours daily and for past seven days the Sukhmani Jaap was also held in there.
Speaking on the occasion, the General Secretary, District Gurudwara Prabhandak Committee, Ramban, Janak Singh passed a resolution wherein the recent sacrilegious acts in Punjab where condemned. The celebration concluded with an Ardass and Guru Ka Langar. |
