Jammu, Nov 26 : Border Security Force to celebrate its Golden Jubilee Raising Day on Ist Dec in order to highlight its achievements and work done by it to protect the borders from the onslaughts of neighboring country and numerous functions to be organized on the occasion. BSF is the largest Border Guarding Force of the world and celebrating its Golden Jubilee year on completion of Glorious 50 years of service to the nation. During this glorious journey, 1551 BSF personnel have made supreme sacrifice by laying their life in the line of duty and awarded MVC-01, VC-11, KC-04, SC-12, PPMG-231, PMG-870 total 1129 Gallantry Medals. BSF also hugely contributed in sports and other arena at International Level. During ensuing celebration of Golden Jubilee, special funds amounting to Rs. Eighty lacs have been allotted to conduct various activities which include integrating border population and share job and happiness of togetherness, felicitation programme to honour war widows, recipients/NOK of recipients of various awards like Mahavir Chakra , Veer Chakra, Kirti , Saurya Chakra, Arjun Award, PPMG,PMG etc, Inviting retirees, organizing Dog and Band shows for border population, conduct of Marathon race including participation of civil population at various levels including field formation/ Training Institutions, conduct of Debate and visits/tours of students of various Schools of respective AOR to BOPs, conduct of various sports meets/ competition of border villages teams and distribution of sports items, provided computers to border villages schools and distribution of stationery and books to needy children of various schools, adoption of few selected schools & assistance to orphanage/homes, Bharat Darshan Tour of border villages each 20-girls and 20-boys students, blood donation camps, plantation of more than 20,000 plants, Swachh Bharat Abnhiyan events etc. |
